Greetings from Guatemala!

We are near the official end of summer. The weather here isn't like I'm used to summer being, so it didn't really feel like summer. Some things have been changing here and I’ll try to update you on the way things are now. Praise be to God for His faithfulness! He is taking care of me and leading me forward step by step.

The big change here is in what I’m doing with the majority of my time. Instead of teaching Joaquin and Marcos, I am now working in LIFE Tender Mercy Home. (The home I helped in when I was here last August.)

I am working with seven children in the mornings. We sing songs, read stories, play with play dough, color, play with puzzles, and play in general. I speak to them mostly in English and they are understanding a lot in the three months I’ve been working with them.

In the afternoons there are three more children, making ten total. When the weather is nice, we play in the park. Afterward I help with baths. With one person bathing and one dressing the children, all ten can have their baths done in less than an hour, even a half hour. The system works well. =)

I am enjoying working with the young children. The littlest are under two years old. The oldest are ten years old. There are the joys and challenges that come with working with children, but I am enjoying it and continuing to grow and learn.

Children’s clubs are still on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. I am also continuing to teach English class to three of the older boys, though now two days a week instead of three.

I work in Tender Mercy all day Monday- Friday, and in the morning on Saturday. English class is Monday and Wednesday just before dinner. After working all week I thoroughly enjoy my day and half off on the weekends. It is a good time to have some fun relaxing before beginning the next week. (As well as try to catch up on some things.) My favorite thing to do by far with my free time is hang out with Micah- who I mentioned briefly in my previous newsletter. We have now become more than friends and really enjoy time we get to spend together.

I really enjoy working with the kids in this home. Even when I’m so tired in the morning, when I walk through the door and the kids come running for a hug it brightens my day so much. They are sweet children and I am glad to have this opportunity to love on and work with them. =)

I appreciate your continued support! I so appreciate those of you who continue to support me financially and through prayer! It does make a difference. Thank you!
