I had a great Thanksgiving this year. We had the official Thanksgiving dinner a few days before with all the kids from the home. Then the family (the one I'm marrying into) headed off to the beach. It was so wonderful. =) We just relaxed...walking on the beach, playing in the waves, laying by the pool, swimming...very nice! We also released sea turtles into the ocean. It was a very good time in all...here's some of the pictures. Enjoy! =)

BIG NEWS!!! =D
Well, the BIG news is that I got engaged on Sunday night (16th of November)!!!! =D
Since I sent everyone here for the details on how I got engaged...here they are. =)
It started about 5:30pm on Sunday. Micah and I were not really doing anything, just hanging out. Then Micah asked if I was doing anything at around 7:00. I said I didn't have any plans. So, he said I could come up in nice clothes at 7:00. (I had a very good idea of what was coming.) Now, I don't think I've ever taken an hour and a half to do so little with getting myself ready to go somewhere. (I was so full of anticipation and excitement that I didn't know what to do with myself...I felt so girly!)
Anyway, at about 7pm we left for the city...we live out in the country. But as we were leaving he told his parents when we'd be back, which we don't usually specify. (Another hint as to what was coming.) We went to eat at La Hacienda (a nice steak restaurant in Guatemala). We ate our meal and talked, then we ordered dessert. When it came he couldn't eat because he knew what was coming, and I didn't eat because he wasn't. Micah was really nervous and we tried to talk about something...which ended up being the way the dessert was decorated.
Then Micah started talking about the real subject at hand. =) He asked if I was happy with the way things are (us "not dating" dating...because I don't "date"), [and I said yes]...if I wanted to just keep going like this [I said no.]...or if I'd rather be engaged [I said yes]. He said that if he could move his legs he'd do something about it...and after a little bit he did. He stood up and took a box out of his pocket, walked around to the other side of me, and got down on his knee. He said he'd had this, referring to what was in the box, for a long time and wanted to ask me. Then he asked if I would marry him. I said yes. He put the ring on my finger. The ring size is perfect. The stone size is perfect. It's beautiful! People clapped and cheered and the waiters came over with this thing that makes noise like fireworks. (Then we got back to dessert...but I couldn't eat for a while because I was so excited.)
What an amazing experience! I'm loving being engaged! Here's a picture of the ring:
So much joy and excitement these last few days- first with getting engaged, of course, then the fun of telling everyone about it. =)
So, now you know too...
